We’ve finished up our first unit of Tapestry (year 3) and will be starting up with the next unit as soon as I can get my act together.
This year I started using a For Real Lesson Planning Tool. I wanted to practice with it and play around with keeping up with grades before I actually HAD to. I’m a slow learner. I need lots of time.
My program of choice was Olly and I really do love it. When I requested a change on their forum (I wanted to duplicate assignment calendars for the twins), they added it with the next update. That’s pretty good service!
I wrote all about my decision over at Simple Homeschool today. If you’re a Mac user, or a geek of any sort really, you’ll find it useful.
Heading home from the beach today. Gotta get the grit out of our clothes, my computer, and my brain. Be back soon…
*Olly people didn’t ask for my endorsement. They simply earned it.

Speaking of endorsements, I’ve been wondering if you and Andrew are still pleased with your mattress. We desperately need something else to sleep on, and I’ve been thinking about saving up for one like you bought. I love the idea of organic, etc., but I really need something comfortable and supportive. My last pregnancy I was in so much pain every night, except the weekend my parents sent us to the Hyatt in Cincinnatti for a weekend marriage conference. That’s when I realized that the problem was the mattress, not my pregnant body. It’s really amazing what a difference a good mattress can make! Anyway, totally off topic, but I was curious if the mattress was still working out well for you.
Elizabeth – Great question, I should definitely post an update. YES, we still LOVE our mattress and never wish to be parted from it. I do think the price has gone up since we purchased, but for something we’ll have for a long time, it’s worth saving for. Seriously. I’ve done two stints of bed rest on that mattress and been as comfortable as possible. HUGE difference from my other pregnancies. Highly recommend!!
