For the past week, there’s been a large roll of landscape fabric wandering around the downstairs. I couldn’t tell you why. That’s Andrew’s thing. And I do my best not to ask questions about the yard. So if he wants to leave landscape fabric in the hall for a week or three, fine by me.
For some reason, this particular Item of Random holds some sort of strange fascination for the kids. Oddly enough, Willa claimed it as hers and has fought several battles “to the death” in order to keep possession of her toy. In the span of an hour, she played with nothing else and used it in a myriad of ways.
There was the air guitar:
Followed by something I’ve dubbed “Koala Hangs On Bamboo No. 5:”
Then came riding it like a broomstick:
And then “roll it on the floor and chase after it on your hands and knees:”
Afterward, she felt the need to smother it with a pillow:
And then sit beside it and look penitent.
Finally, she and her friend were reunited and she used it as a slide to celebrate.
This went on all day. And the next day, too. She’s going to be broken-hearted whenever Andrew decides to remove it from the indoors and puts it to its proper use.
Maybe he can bring her some 2 x 4′s inside to play with next.
